Just in Queso Foundation

We are so thrilled to donate to Tijuana Flat's 'Just In Queso Foundation'. They are holding an event this Saturday (Share the Love, Feel the Music Gala) to benefit children and our brave military in times of need.

From event page:

GIVING BACK to the communities where we live & work is the heart of Tijuana Flats restaurants & foundation. Our support is focused on – but not exclusive to –organizations benefiting CHILDREN & our BRAVE MILITARY in their time of need. We always stand ready to provide a helping hand when needed.

To aid people and programs in our local communities in their time of need and in the unexpected times of tragedy."

More upcoming charities!

It really is our pleasure to support the community by donating auction items for charitable events. Here are some more events coming up:

From event page:

"The “4th Annual Celebration of Life Gala: Hope Rising” will be a night you will never forget, filled with reflection, celebration and fun. We will have an incredible silent auction, a culinary creation crafted by The Alfond Inn’s incredible chef, a program honoring the Projects’ mothers as well as music and dancing! As an organization, The Finley Project wants the Gala to be like no other Gala. We are dedicated to making it a night that pays homage to little lives that matter greatly. We will also celebrate the blessings we do still have here on earth."

About the event:

"The foundation has touched many individuals through the years by providing several professional opportunities at the conferences conducted by the Foundation through scholarships to individuals who do not have the resources to attend. The Foundation also provides financial assistance to the immediate family of firefighters in the event of a Line-of-Duty-Death."

We love supporting local charities!

It is our pleasure to donate auction items to two upcoming events in Central Florida:

From event page:

"This event is a benefit to raise funds for our son Patrice's therapy expenses. Join us for an extravagant afternoon with the family and be inspired to reach your highest potential! We will enjoy dancing in the beautiful setting of The Crystal Ballroom, delicious food and beverages, and wholesome family-friendly entertainment. We'll also have a photographer on site doing mini-photo sessions with a "Reach for the Stars" themed set so you can remember the event and how beautiful your family looked all dressed up for the ball!"

To learn more about Patrice and his therapy needs, or to make a donation directly, please visit his GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/patrices-therapy-fund

From event page:

"Join us for an evening of Celebrating Independence. Since 1976, the Center for Independent Living has worked tirelessly to create new opportunities for the inclusion, acceptance, opportunity, and independence. On July 22nd we will celebrate our many achievements and honor Andy Gardiner, a stalwart ally in the effort to improve accessibility to jobs, transportation, and education in our community.

Mr. Andy Gardiner will receive the second annual Beverly Chapman Legacy Award for his service in helping to break down barriers to inclusion throughout Florida."

7 Surprising Causes of Bladder Problems

A mortifying leak during yoga class. A "gotta go" feeling that won't stop. Sleepless nights from too many bathroom visits. These are just a few of the bladder problems many Americans struggle with - often silently. "these are very personal and oftentimes embarrassing situations that patients are reluctant to bring up to their physicians," says Melissa Kaufman, M.D., Ph. D., and associate professor of urological surgery at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. "But there are many treatments that can give you back your quality of life."

The causes of bladder problems can be as varied as the symptoms. Here are seven that might surprise you:

  1. E. Coli - can cause painful urinary tract infections if it travels from the bowel and sets up camp.
  2. Obesity - Obesity has been linked to stress incontinence-- leaking brought on by coughing or laughing.
  3. Heart disease - Blood vessels leading to the bladder and pelvic floor are subject to the same stresses as the cardiac vessels.
  4. Neurological disease - Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) may experience a range of urinary symptoms. With Parkinson's disease, frequent bladder contractions may leave sufferers with an increased and urgent need to urinate.
  5. Medications - Some sedatives, anti psychotics, antidepressants, narcotics, and other prescription medications can affect bladder function. Medications that help high blood pressure are designed to help flush excess fluid and salt from the body, which increases urine output.
  6. Pelvic Floor Injury - The arrangement of muscles, ligaments, connective tissues, and nerves responsible for supporting the pelvic organs can be injured in a variety of ways, including hysterectomy, prostate surgery, radiation, childbirth complications and even extreme exercise. Such injuries can cause stress incontinence or an overactive bladder and may require physical therapy to resolve (OR you can come in to Euro Day Spa & Salon for your Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, click here for details)
  7. Aging - While aging can set in motion changes in the body that affect the bladder, incontinence is not something you should simply accept as part of getting older. "It's a very treatable problem"... "It's not something people have to live with".

Stress Awareness (Part 3 of 3)

Did you know that stress can affect your energy levels? This week, we are featuring two massages that are excellent for revitalizing your every day energy.

•    Lomi Lomi – 75 minutes $105

This massage is an ancient Hawaiian technique that means breaking into small bits. This type of massage will use compression to address muscle groups as a whole. You may request real light and mild pressure, or firmer pressure may also be accommodated. In this massage, breathing is emphasized, and the act of letting go is key.

•    Cranial Unwinding – 90 minutes $135

This treatment is a mix of full body massage and cranial work. The cranial work is actually not a massage at all, rather: the massage therapist will work from the sacrum (tail bone) to the cranium (base of skull), using energy work to address your stresses along the spine, thus allowing you to fully relax. [It is an excellent recommendation for those who are suffering from car accidents, whip lash, abusive situations, or just plain old worry warts.]

Stress Awareness Part 2 (of 3)

*Mention that you read this post, and receive 15% off of any of these highlighted massages* during the month of april!

(*does not include Deep Tissue)

Did you know that stress affects not just your mind, but your body as well? Here are two wonderful massages that will set your mind and body at ease.

  • Deep Tissue - 60 minute $95 / 90 minute $135

This type of massage is a different technique than our regular therapeutic full body massage, and it is fully customized to suit your needs. Your massage therapist will use slow, precise movements to address specific pain relief, thus only focusing on about 2 to 3 areas of concern. (This massage is excellent for that crick in your neck or for those sore muscles after your morning run! )

  • Young living Reflexology treatment - 60 minute $95

Are your dogs barking? Then this is the massage for you. You will start with a short, yet tranquil foot soak, and the therapist will massage the parts of the feet that correspond to the major organs of the body. We use either Lavender or Peace & Calming Young Living Essential Oils to fully enrich your experience. (You will leave feeling like you are walking on clouds!)

Don't forget to tune in next week for our next segment.

Stress Awareness Month

April is recognized as Stress Awareness month. You may be wondering what makes Euro Day Spa & Salon so different. Well, many of you are familiar with our Therapeutic full body massage, but did you know about our Specialty massages for when you need just a little bit more stress relief?

  • Bamboo Massage -  60 min $95 / 90 min $135

Your massage therapist will utilize warmed bamboo wands to provide a full body massage with wider, longer strokes than are normally possible with traditional Swedish massage. With each customized treatment, they are able to provide deep, pinpoint work on problem areas of concern. (We recommend taking a mental vacation as you are experiencing this exotic technique.)

  •  Young Living Stone Massage - 80 min $130

The massage therapist uses warmed stones throughout the whole massage to penetrate the muscles using heat. They will lay hot stones on you as well as use the heated stones to perform slow, precise movements. This massage is enhanced with our use of Young Living essential oils to fit your needs. (Try Lavender essential oil for a blissful escape from your everyday stress.)

This post is Part 1 of a 3 part series.

Check back in next week for our next segment!

Spring Breaks

'Tis the season to relax and recoup. Here are a few ways to release your mind and body from winters icy grip - just in time for National Stress Awareness month.

Flower Power

Stop and smell the spring flowers (daffodils are the traditional March flower, daisies are April) or color them - both reduce stress and hike spirits.

Hug a Dog

Just call them canine stress-busters. The simple act of petting a pooch can boost your mood and lower your blood pressure.

Bonus! Some studies show happy people have a 50 percent chance of living longer!
